BWpolice x3 270x300 California Electric Vehicle Producer Goes International California based T3 Motion, Inc., a producer of t3 motion electric vehicles 300x168 California Electric Vehicle Producer Goes International clean tech/green tech electric personal mobility vehicles, today announced that Luxury Carts, a Saudi Arabian company, has been selected to exclusively distribute T3 Series Electric Stand-up Vehicles (ESV) in Saudi Arabia.  Luxury Carts has a blanket purchase order to purchase multiple T3 ESVs for up to $1,881,000, to supply law enforcement agencies and security companies throughout Saudi Arabia. Luxury Carts may purchase the additional T3 ESVs through August 31, 2012.  T3 Motion received the initial order release for T3 ESVs of approximately $231,000.

The T3 ESV will be used for many security and law enforcement applications throughout Saudi Arabia. Distributors anticipate that the ESVs will be used for the first time during Saudi Arabia’s most prevalent tourist event, Hajj. The T3 ESVs would be used for security and as emergency responders throughout the event. Luxury Carts is known for having a wide range of products and solutions for the utility vehicle and ATV industry and has a reputation for delivering operational excellence through superior customer service, innovation, quality and commitment.

This agreement further solidifies T3 Motion’s presence in the Middle East, with contractual agreements in Qatar, Iraq, Kuwait, Lebanon, Egypt and the UAE. In addition to the Saudi Arabia order, the ministry of interior in Kuwait is expected to release an order for a significant number of T3 ESVs. “The Middle East has been a very active area for our T3 ESVs,” Ki Nam, CEO of T3 Motion noted. “Our focus this year has been to expand our clean technology into the international arena. Saudi Arabia represents a broad market for personal mobility vehicles.” Mr. Bakr, Managing Director of Luxury Carts, stated, “Luxury Carts is very pleased to be T3 Motion’s distributor for Saudi Arabia. Saudi Arabia and the Gulf Corporation Council are increasingly conscious of using clean, green and alternative energy vehicles.  We are very proud to be launching the T3 vehicle and look forward to having them used for the first time for Hajj at Mecca this year.  We see the T3 as a significant advancement for the security industry, both government and private, in our country.”

To paraphrase Mark Twain, the rumors of manufacturing’s demise are greatly exaggerated. In fact, manufacturing in America is not only alive, it’s thriving. America’s manufacturing industry is expected to grow by 6.2 percent this year, outpacing the overall economy. Last year, the auto industry’s Detroit Three of Chrysler, GM, and Ford gained U.S. market share for the first time since 1995. And this July, motor vehicle and parts manufacturing jumped by 5.2 percent over the year-ago month, a direct contributor to the increase in factory outputs of 0.6 percent that month.

Better yet, this industrial growth has spurred job growth. In July alone, manufacturers created 24,000 jobs. Since December, 2009, the manufacturing sector has created more than 289,000 jobs — more than 1 in 10 of all jobs created during our recovery. GM announced this summer that it is creating 4,000 jobs at 17 facilities, including at least 250 at its Powertrain plant in Toledo. It is investing $204 million there.

In all sorts of industries, manufacturers are making investments that hold great promise for American workers and our economy. Pittsburgh Glass Works LLC is spending more than $85 million to set up a manufacturing hub that will retrofit a vacant 416,000-square-foot plant into a center that will create more than 260 jobs. Then, there’s the ripple effect. For every job created in the manufacturing sector, four to seven jobs are created in the broader economy. The auto industry supply chain now employs three times as many workers as auto companies themselves. This supply chain accounted for almost 3.5 million workers last year. This growth contributes to gains in other industries, from retail to hospitality to tourism. His recent convocation keynote speech this to approximately 560 new first-year undergraduates publicly marked the relationship between NYU-Poly and Miller, a global leader in urban environmental sustainability, economic development and social integration. As Toronto mayor from 2003 to 2010, Miller became recognized for innovations that furthered the city’s environmental sustainability, economic development and social integration. Miller is currently counsel, international business and sustainability, to the Toronto law firm Aird & Berlis LLP and president of Urban Green Jobs, Inc.

Noting that recently the scales tipped so that most of the people of the world now live in cities, Miller told the students: “This fundamental change has an important implication for your studies. No longer will it be sufficient to simply study chemical or computer engineering, or any other technical field and become an expert – it will also be essential to understand the public policy context and challenges within which your research is being conducted.” Using real-world examples from his experience, Miller told the students that engineers and technology will play an increasingly important role in solving these urban problems. He also pointed to ways to have fun while creating solutions. He pointed to the example of the NYC BigApps Challenge, which employs open source code and open government information to create apps to make city life better for residents and visitors.

Urban technology is one of NYU-Poly’s highest academic priorities, befitting its mission as a comprehensive school of engineering located in one of the world’s great urban centers.

Green For All was founded on the idea that those two problems could be relieved with a common solution, green jobs. We’ve seen that this can work; renewable energy businesses are among the fastest growing in the American economy.
We’ve also learned that the green economy holds much more promise than just renewables. The scope of jobs that improve our environment runs from factory workers building high-efficiency vehicles to entrepreneurs selling organic skincare products to businesses that turn a profit recycling waste from shredded automobiles.

In July, the Brookings Institution released a report detailing the extent of the green economy. Some 2.7 million Americans work at green jobs – more than work in the fossil fuel industry. The US Conference of Mayors estimates that number will almost triple by 2040. And green jobs are quality jobs. Median wages are 13 percent higher than the median – and they’re available to more Americans who have a high school degree. Investment in clean energy projects yields more than three times as many jobs as investing in fossil fuels.

Green Boot Camp 1 300x197 Green Boot Camp Instructs Teachers In New JerseyUnion County and Honeywell last  week  hosted the third annual Green Boot Camp, an interactive workshop focused on best practice instruction methods for teaching energy, sustainability and environmental concepts. As part of the five-day event, 40 middle school teachers from across North America  gathered to explore the roots of green technology, sustainable living and environmental awareness by using the Union County Vocational-Technical Schools (UCVTS) campus in Scotch Plains, N.J., as a living laboratory.

Our objective is to equip teachers with the tools to get students excited about science and engineering, and enable them to understand sustainable practices that will positively affect their families, schools and communities,” said Paul Orzeske, president of Honeywell Building Solutions. “By teaming with a renowned institution like UCVTS, we are educating the next generation of green workers and building a foundation for environmental stewardship.”

Green Boot Camp participants  covered a comprehensive set of topics ranging from green energy and greenhouse gas emissions to electric vehicles and the smart electrical grid. For example, attendees worked on course materials to clearly articulate the principles of renewable energy by designing a solar house, and constructing a wind turbine and bicycle generator. In addition to the on-site instructors, Honeywell and UCVTS also invited a host of special guest speakers who specialize in environmental and energy-related disciplines, such as rainwater conservation and building energy management.
